Description
A Chinese agate snuff bottle 18th/19th century, carved as a large fruit, with areas of the seeds within revealed, with foliate tendrils encircling insects to one side, the stopper in glass formed as a frog, 5.8cm.
Provenance: Allan Gibson Hughes (1889-1938), of Chalfont, The Mount, Shrewsbury. According to Hughes purchase ledge, from the collection of Tzar Nicholas II of Russia.
