Description

*A rare Chinese wucai circular box and cover six character Wanli mark in underglaze blue and of the period 1573-1620, thickly potted, the domed cover with a central circular raised panel, painted in underglaze blue, underglaze red and green with two parrots perched in a willow tree, with insects in flight and flowers in bloom beneath, all within double concentric bands surrounded by fruiting boughs of pomegranate and peach and flowering branches, the base with grape vines and other fruits, 24cm.
