Description

A fine and massive Chinese Longquan celadon dish Yuan/early Ming dynasty, robustly potted, the centre crisply carved with two flowering peony stems and leaves encircled by a wide band of flowerheads and scrolling foliage, a paper label for Bluett & Sons, London, 46cm.

Provenance: the collection of Andrew Williams Esq., Oxfordshire. Formerly in the E M B Ingram collection.

This dish, with Bluett's label and stock no.3191, was bought by Bluett's at Sotheby's on 30th June 1937, lot 130, for £11:10. It was sold by them to the London-based collector E M B Ingram.
