λ A Japanese ivory okimono of Hotei with two karako Meiji 1868-1912, the god carrying a large sack on his back and holding a gnarled staff, the boys on his shoulder and by his side grabbing the stick, signed Naoko/Chokuko with kao, 7.3cm.
Provenance: from the collection of George Henderson (1854-1934), and thence by descent.
