A fine and tall Martin Brothers stoneware bird jar and cover, by Robert Wallace Martin, dated 1898, modelled standing alert, broad flat beak, casting a knowing glance, with broad webbed claws, glazed in brown and green with blue plumage to the wings, on ebonised wood base incised Martin Bros, London & Southall, 9-1898, paper label to neck, 35cm. high
