Description

An elm bowfront fender, the ends each with a detachable carved model of a frog, the front inset a brass gun dial inscribed 'DIAL FROM KRUPP 5.9 GUN CAPTURED MACEDONIA 21.9.1918', 25.3cm high, 150cm wide, 35.5cm deep.

Arthur Thellusson (1801-1858) was the youngest son of Peter Thellusson, 1st Baron Rendlesham.

Provenance: The Old Rectory, Little Langford, Wiltshire. Sold by order of Trustees of the Estate of the late Miss S.F. Rooke.
