A pearlware cylindrical mug c.1800, printed and hand-coloured with a couple being wed by a blacksmith, titled 'Gretna Green, or the Red Hot Marriage' after a contemporary mezzotint, and inscribed with the stanza 'Oh Mr Blacksmith ease our Pains And Tye us fast in Wedlock's chains', rim crack, 12.2cm.
