John Bridge was a partner in the firm of Rundell and Bridge, which came to be one of the most successful British jewelers, goldsmith and silver manufacturers of the 19th century, employing up to 1000 out-workers. He came from and lived in Piddletrenthide in Dorset and is commemorated there with John Gawler Bridge, his nephew.
