Mary, Queen of Scots, silver counter or jeton, 1579, crowned shield of France and Scotland impaled, MARIA D G SCOTOR REGINA FRAN DOI, rev., a hand issuing from clouds pruning a withered branch from a vine, VIRESCIT VVLNERE VIRTVS, 29mm (MI 129/78; CP.10/9). Fine, some staining to obverse and corrosion on reverse.
