Description
The defeat of the Spanish Armada, Dutch silver jeton, 1588, struck in Middelbourg, arms of Zeeland, crowned and garnished, SOLI DEO GLORIA, rev., two ships in action firing cannon and muskets, VENIT IVIT FVIT - CLASSIS HISP, 33mm (MI 146/113; Eim. 58; vL I, 384, 2; Dugn. 3186; MH 6). Some flatness in striking, a mark between ships where old gilding scratched away, very fine and rare.
