Description

Charles I, Naval and Military Tribute, or "So-Called" Pattern Shilling, gilt-bronze medal, 1628, by Nicholas Briot, bust right, wearing open crown, CAROLVS DG ANG SCO FRAN ET HIB REX FIDEI DEF, rev., crossed sceptre and trident tied with a cord, REGIT VNVS VTROQVE, 1628, in exergue, 28mm (MI 250/26; Eim. 111; BMC [Jones] 131; Brooker 1259; North 2675; Platt, type A, pp. 120-21). Nearly extremely fine, tiny test mark on bottom edge.
