Description
Charles I, the declaration of Parliament, silvered electrotype of the oval medal of 1642, by Thomas Rawlins and in the British Museum; a ship in full sail to left, in exquisite detail, rev., PRO RELIGIONE GREGE ET REGE, the two Houses of Parliament, with the King and Speaker, wide wreath border, 55 x 51mm (MI. 293/110; Platt p. 154, type A). Much as made, good very fine.
Platt records three examples of original medals, all in Museum collections.
