Description
A Chinese pale celadon jade belthook 18th/19th century, carved as a stylized phoenix, the terminal depicting the bird's head, the shaft carved in shallow relief with feathers, archaistic scrolls and ruyi, the stone with russet striations, 9.2cm.
Provenance: from the estate of Johanna Joan Austin, member of the Oriental Ceramic Society 1975-2013.
