A Chinese pale celadon jade carving of an archaistic bird, xiao 18th/19th century, with its wings curling symmetrically behind its back, the head resting over its body, the feathers finely defined, the stone with russet striations, 5.7cm.

Provenance: from the estate of Johanna Joan Austin, member of the Oriental Ceramic Society 1975-2013.
