Description
Two Chinese gilt bronze models of animals c.1900, one formed as a Buddhist lion dog, with a bushy tail and its paw raised on a brocade ball, the other an incense burner modelled as a kylin, its head forming the hinged cover, with a single horn to its forehead, each with a reticulated hardwood stand, 27cm. (4)
Provenance: from the collection of Colonel Francis Pitt Stewart Taylor, C.M.G., R.A.S.C.,(1864-1924), and thence by descent.
