Description

A large Tibeto-Chinese gilt copper repoussé figure of a lama 18th century, sitting with his right hand raised, his robes engraved with stylized foliage and flowers, his head ungilded, the enclosed base with a single band of lotus, 41cm.

Provenance: formerly in the collection of David Murdoch, and by repute purchased by him as one of a pair at Sotheby's, New York, October 1987.
