Description
Two Chinese pale celadon jade carvings 19th century, one naturalistically carved as a section of bamboo, with a smaller plant emerging from the base and a flowering tendril to one side, the other carved as two gourds issuing from a leafy tendril, a bat clambering upon the larger fruit, the stones with russet markings, 6.5cm max. (2)
Provenance: from the estate of Johanna Joan Austin, member of the Oriental Ceramic Society 1975-2013.
