Description
A large Chinese aloeswood ruyi sceptre 19th century, carved with Shoulao seated with a peach to the ruyi-shaped terminal, the seven other Immortals amongst pine, bamboo and clouds to the shaft, and with four characters depicting the phrase yi pin dang chao (to be the highest court official), 59.5cm.
Provenance: formerly in the collection of Fei Cheng Wu (1914-2001).
