Description

A good Chinese polychrome lacquer ruyi sceptre 18th century, carved in relief with the Immortal Tie Guai Li beneath a pine tree, holding his gourd from which clouds emit, the shaft carved with a panel containing a vase of peony and auspicious objects, with smaller panels containing twin fish, scrolling lotus, bamboo, and a bat, all reserved on a swastika cell ground, the rim with key fret, 40.5cm.
