Description

A Chinese porcelain Dutch-decorated teabowl and saucer early 18th century, originally decorated in underglaze blue with small figures in a watery landscape, later-enamelled with polychrome highlights to the existing decoration, which has been extended to include a further figure dancing beneath trees, a parrot perched on bamboo and with two birds in flight above, the teabowl's interior with further birds on branches, and a thickly potted bowl with underglaze blue decoration of flowering sprays, over-decorated with birds in the Kakiemon manner and with red and green highlights to the existing painting, 11.5cm max.
