Description

Chinese and Worcester porcelains with London decoration 18th century, a small Chinese bowl with underglaze blue decoration of a figure in a watery landscape, a saucer with small buildings in a landscape, both later-enamelled with a European fisherman, figures in boats and small signal towers or sentry boxes, within a pink crowsfoot rim, a Worcester coffee cup and a slop bowl printed in blue with the Man in the Pavilion pattern, with later polychrome enamelling highlighting the existing pattern, and with additional buildings and a large European figure to the bowl, 15.5cm max. The Worcester cup and bowl with labels for Stockspring Antiques, Early James Giles. The decoration on these wares is of the type known as Man in Red Coat, although the eponymous figure is only fully seen on the Worcester slop bowl.
