Description
A Middle-Eastern limestone incense burner, Yemen, of cuboid shape, the sides inscribed with the names of various types of incense, 1st century AD, 7cm high, 9.5cm square.
Cuboid incense burners were popular in the Levant and Arabia from the late 5th century BC to the 1st century AD and used to burn natural aromatics in the home and temple.
