Description

Salisbury interest, a late Victorian silver mounted ox hoof inkwell,

by Heath and Middleton, Birmingham 1897,

plain silver mounts, the hinged cover inscribed 'HOOF OF THE OX', which was roasted in the Market Place Salisbury, on the Occasion of the Celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of the Reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, 23 June 1897', the interior with a ceramic liner, mounted on an oval wooden base, total height 17cm.
