A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE OVOID JARLET AND COVER

QIANLONG 1736-95

Painted with an archaistic dragon design between bands of spearhead and stiff leaves, the cover with a flowerhead, paper collection label, 6.2cm. (2)

Provenance: from the collection of Brodie and Enid Lodge of Flore House, Northamptonshire, and thence by descent. Formerly the collection of Field Marshal Earl Kitchener of Khartoum (1850-1916). Purchased from Moss on the 9th December 1938 for £1 5s.
