Description

A LARGE CHINESE FAMILLE VERTE BLUE GROUND DISH

KANGXI 1662-1722

Painted with a central barbed panel depicting an extensive mountainous landscape, with pagodas, trees and a bridge to the foreground, the rim with smaller panels containing flower sprays, all reserved on a powder-blue ground with gilt panels and foliate designs, the base with a lozenge mark, 40.7cm.

Provenance: formerly in the Palmer collection.
