Description
A set of four 16th century carved oak 'Romayne' panels, each with a portrait bust within a wreath or a cartouche above mythical beasts, and surmounted by an angel's mask, a bull's head, a pair of horse's heads and a pair of stylized human heads, 55.3 x 21.3 each panel, later mounted into oak door frames. (2)
Provenance: A private collection in the Cotswolds.
