Description
A George III Scottish Sheraton mahogany lady's work/writing table by Biggar of Edinburgh, inlaid with stringing, the plumb pudding crossbanded top with a pleated silk lift-up screen, above a frieze drawer with a leather lined writing surface and a pen and ink drawer, with a paper trade label inscribed 'Biggar's CABINET WARE-HOUSE Opposite the College, EDINBURGH', above a pull-out bag, on square tapering legs and brass castors, 75cm high, 60.2cm wide. 50.3cm deep.
Provenance: Bought from Antique Sales, Kelvedon, Essex, November 1979.
