A set of twenty-four Victorian gilt metal Royal Loo Hawking Club buttons by Jennens & Co., each decorated with a hooded falcon, and inscribed 'MON ESPOIR EN PENNES', the reverse stamped 'JENNENS & CO. LONDON', 2.5cm diameter. (24)
The short lived Royal Loo Hawking Club (1839-1855) was based at the palace of Het Loo in the Netherlands, the summer palace of the King of the Netherlands. The club had an international membership and specialized in the 'haut vol'.
