Description

A mid Victorian green leather writing and document box by Asprey, with gilt line decoration, the lid with an engraved sunken brass handle, with a writing surface to the underside, above a fitted interior with a divided lift-out tray flanked by 'ACCOUNTS' and 'JOURNAL' leather covered books, an inkwell and light box, with silver gilt engraved lids, hallmarked for John Harris, London 1854, fitted with mother of pearl handled utensils, pens, pencils, a ruler, seal, letter opener and scissors, stamped 'ASPREY MANUFACTURER 166 BOND STREET, with engraved locks and hinges, 14.2cm high, 38.3cm wide, 28cm deep.
