Description
A Queen Anne unascribed provincial decorated trefid spoon, with two bird's wing motifs on the front of the terminal and the scratched initials and date "IS" over "E.M" over "1703" on the back, the rattail with a fleur-de-lys motif, maker's mark "EL" within a perforated square punch, [struck thrice] * unascribed, c.1703, 8.5in (21.6cm) long, 1.6oz. * See Jacksons Revised p515 for this mark as seen on a trefid spoon c.1703.
