Description
Charles I, Gold Memorial Medal, by James or Norbert Roettier, armoured bust right with lovelock over left shoulder, rev hand from heaven holds crown over pastoral landscape, 34.5mm (Medallic Illustrations I, 347/201, not recorded in gold). Extremely fine and very rare. 1500-2000 Originally thought to be the work of John Roettier from shortly after the Restoration, it has now been re-attributed and dated from contemporary advertising to c. 1695.
