Description
A Staffordshire green-glazed basket stand c.1755, the oval form with a wide reticulated rim moulded with flowerheads at the intersections, decorated in a rich allover green glaze, 26cm.
Cf. Rosalie Sharp, Ceramics Ethics and Scandal, p.20 for a similar green-glazed basket and stand. Queen Charlotte ordered six identical ones from Wedgwood in 1765.
