λ A 19th century French sailor's double gourd scrimshaw, with a carved marine ivory bird finial above finely engraved portraits of Napoleon III in laurel wreath rondels, above a three masted man o'war, flying the Tricolor and with six further studies of Napoleon III, the base dated '1864', 27.5cm high.
