A George III mourning ring, the gold navette shaped ring centred with the ornate initials 'TG,' in gold with black enamel decoration on a ground of plaited hair, within black enamel border and under a crystal mount. Engraved to the inside 'Gainsborough Esqr ob 2d Augt 1788.' (Dent to one shoulder.)
