A CHINESE BLACK LACQUER AND MOTHER OF PEARL BOX
YUAN DYNASTY 1271-1368 AD
The outer box with a loose rectangular handle to each side and with two drawers within, the exterior inlaid with mother of pearl depicting shaped panels containing figures engaged in various activities in gardens, all contained within geometric borders, the drawers with chrysanthemum emerging from rockwork with a butterfly beneath a foliate spray, contained in a fitted wooden box, 16.2cm x 14cm x 16.2cm.
