A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE JARDINIERE, GANG

KANGXI 1662-1722

Brightly painted with a panel containing a dragon amongst auspicious things, the reverse with a leaf-shaped panel containing a bird, a butterfly, rocks and flowers, 23cm.

Provenance: from the collection of Karl Wilhelm Gerdhem (1868-1932). Gerdhem was a famous Swedish engineer who in 1905 was in Peking, negotiating a telecommunications contract for the city of Guangzhou (Canton).
