A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE SAUCER DISH
REPUBLIC PERIOD
Brightly enamelled with five shou characters encircled by stylized dragons and with a continuous lotus scroll, all reserved on a pale green ground, the rim with a wide band containing beribboned Buddhist emblems, the reverse enamelled yellow and with a six character Qianlong seal mark, 18.7cm.
Provenance: from the collection of Major Beale-Brown (d.1965), who was stationed in Hong Kong with the Royal Army Service Corps c.1935.
