A pair of Derby baskets c.1760, of 'Spectacle' type, the interiors painted with botanical specimens of fruit beside large moths and other flying insects, the pierced sides with green and yellow twist handles issuing from applied flowers, the baskets' exteriors applied with yellow flowerheads, some restoration, 21cm.
