An Ifugao zoomorphic kinahu bowl

Philippines

wood, circular and raised on four feet with a pig's head handle,

32cm long.

Provenance

The Luciano Federico Collection.

Kinahu means 'in the shape of a beast' and though not used for ceremonial purposes these bowls were used by priests.
