Description
A late 19th century French gilt brass and enamel repeating carriage clock with alarm by Le Roys & Fils, the platform lever escapement striking on a gong, the backplate stamped '97', the painted enamel dial decorated with cherubs in a river landscape with love birds, the two dials with Arabic numerals, inscribed 'Le Roy & Fils, 35 AVENUE DEL'OPERA, PARIS', the sides painted with scantily clad classical maidens, in a guilloche decorated case with spiral twist columns, 15.3cm high, 10cm wide.
