Description

A Victorian Engineer Volunteer Corps officer's 1857 pattern sword, etched blade for the 1st City of London EVC, retailers name of Tucker & Seacombe, Cannon Street, London; regulation gilt brass guard with pierced scrolling decoration, steel scabbard.

This unit was originally raised in 1862. On the formation of the Territorial Force in 1908 it was converted to become 1st London Heavy Brigade RGA.
