An Austrian rifled flintlock carbine, swamped hexagonal barrel 12 in., top flat inscribed 'Franz Xaveri Schas.... in Ferlach', tang numbered '242', dovetailed brass fore sight, one standing and one folding leaf sight, plain iron lock stamped 'I.R.' to the inside, full stock with brass furniture, shaped cheek rest, patch box with sliding cover, indistinct stamped mark to the brass side plate, iron ram rod, 18th Century.
