A pair of early-Victorian silver wine labels,
by Rawlings and Summers, London 1838,
rectangular form, canted corners, reeded borders, engraved with a coronet and a crest, and incised 'BURGUNDY' and 'CLARET', length 4cm, approx. weight 0.6oz. (2)
The crest is that of Gore, with a coronet appropriate to Philip York Gore, who succeeded as 4th Earl Arran of the Arran Islands in 1837, and married Elizabeth Napier in 1838.
