Description

A large George III silver nutmeg grater,
unmarked, circa 1790,
plain rectangular form, the hinged cover with a bright-cut border and engraved with a crest, the hinged base and sides with bright-cut borders, hinged cover, length 6.7cm, approx. weight 3.6oz.
Provenance: Phillips, New Bond Street, April 1985, lot 584.
The crest is that used by a number of families including: Dewhurst, Evans, Millar, Rowley and Wormington.
