Catalogue Notes

Pat Cooke lived in Mottram-in-Longdendale, Cheshire, where she met L.S. Lowry (via her Father's building works for him). Lowry, who would later move to Mottram, became her artistic mentor and lifelong friend sharing trips around the country. These watercolours are dedicated to Anton Pieck (1895-1987) the Dutch artist and graphic designer who was also a friend of Pat Cooke.
