Description

A CHINESE JADEITE BELT BUCKLE

LATE 18TH / EARLY 19TH CENTURY

Formed in two parts, each carved to the top with an openwork stylized chilong, its sinuous body curling amongst lingzhi fungi, the buckle carved as a dragon's head, the stone with vibrant green mottling, a paper label for the R F A Riesco collection, no.715, 9.7cm. (2)

Provenance: formerly in the R F A Riesco collection, received as a gift from the family c.2000.
