A MONGOLIAN GILT-COPPER FIGURE OF USNISAVIJAYA

QIANLONG MARK BUT LATER

The three-headed goddess of wealth with eight arms holding an urn, wearing flowing robes and with strings of beads, some inset with turquoise and coral, the eyes, mouth and hair with cold-painted decoration, the single lotus base with a seven character plaque which reads Da Qing Qian Long Nian Jing Zao, the base plate lacking, 32cm.

Usnisavijaya is a female deity in the Buddhist pantheon who represents the intelligence of the most splendid Perfect One. She is also known as the Victorious goddess of the Usnisa and is a Buddha of longevity often accompanied by the deities Amitayus and White Tara.
