A CHINESE HARDWOOD LOW-BACK CHAIR
LATE QING DYNASTY
The back and sides carved in relief with chilong dragons, the rectangular seat inset with a rattan panel, the shaped frieze carved with scrolling tendrils and raised on plain legs with hoof feet, 82cm x 83cm x 62cm.
Provenance: formerly in the collection of General Sir Henry Powall, Chief of staff in Asia during World War II.
