A RARE CHINESE ANHUA-DECORATED WHITE GLAZED STEM BOWL
17TH CENTURY
The flaring U-shaped body raised on a spreading foot, incised to the exterior with two ferocious scaly dragons chasing flaming pearls of wisdom, the interior with a six character Xuande mark in underglaze blue within a double ring, 9.9cm dia.
Provenance: the collection of Charles Russell, purchased by Bluett & Sons from Sotheby's, London, 6th June 1935, lot 85, for £9. The collection of Basil Drewe, purchased from Bluett & Sons, 3rd May 1938, for £13:10, and thence by descent.
