A RARE CHINESE IMPERIAL YELLOW GROUND 'CRANES' BOWL

SIX CHARACTER YONGZHENG MARK AND OF THE PERIOD 1723-35

Finely potted with deep rounded sides rising from a short straight foot, incised and enamelled around the exterior with eight cranes in flight amidst green enamelled cloud scrolls above rockwork and breaking waves which encircle the base, the interior with a lustrous yellow glaze, 15cm.

Provenance: an English private collection, London, and formerly with Marchant and Son and J. Sparks Ltd.
